I agree that they need time and space to process this loss and move forward. They are wonderful, strong, caring people who help others. Many people who care about them very much are “standing in their corner” right now. They need time to heal from this latest, devastating blow.

I know. It’s very difficult to understand. Yes, her post grieving this tremendous loss was attacked. As I told her earlier, I believe whoever left the hurtful comments must certainly have some issues of their own that they are projecting onto her and it has nothing to do with her post at all really. Essentially, her honest and grieving post triggered the inappropriate comments she received but it’s not about her. It’s just very unfortunate that she had to be upset by it (as anyone would be)! It’s just sad all the way around. As is so often the case with mean-spirited blog comments, these were left anonymously. It’s easy to take pot shots at someone behind the cloak of anonymity. I did what I could to try to get her to see that it’s not about her and not something for her to take personally.

Please don’t apologize. I’m sorry you started your day with sad news. It’s hard to comprehend. I really believe firmly that these comments were made by someone who has issues and that Alicia can’t take it personally. As you know, she does so much good and helps so many. Sadly, these things (attacks) happen on the Internet midst all of the good things. It’s all part of the package, so to speak. So, I’m hoping that she can try to forget the mean-spiritedness and focus on the enormous amount of positive energy being directed her way by the many people who care about her very much.

I cannot believe what I am reading… people attacked Alicia for posting how she felt?? How awful, I just cannot believe it and I just wish the world were full of loving people like you and Alicia and not those who are out to harm others.

Sorry I couldn’t reply to your last email, it was getting very late here and I had to go to bed. As it was I barely made it up this morning and now this extra sad news makes me wish I’d stayed in bed that little bit longer… I just cannot get my head around it

It is a devastating blow. They have been through so much. This is just cruel. I think “not fair” is an understatement.

So many people love and care about her. She will need everyone’s support… especially after nasty comments were left on her blog post about the adoption loss… prompting her to pull the whole post. Very sad!

Since you posted this comment, there has been another twist. Nasty comments were left on Alicia’s blog and she deleted the entire post about this adoption loss because she was so hurt by them. I just updated this post accordingly.

As far as things working out for the best in the long run, I doubt if Alicia is ready to hear that just yet but I believe I know what you mean.

I just wish I knew some way to make her feel better. This is a devastating blow.
