Teresa,

I just took a quick peek at your blog and was astonished to find that you have dysautonomia! You see, I have encountered a striking number of people with dysautonomia in recent weeks (including some with POTS, or postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, which I see from your profile that you have). I sat down today to write a post about dysautonomia and knew it would be long enough that I might need to split it up. What I never dreamed was that I'd be writing enough to split it into FIVE parts!

For an illness that some sources describe as rare, I sure have been meeting many people with dysautonomia in a short period of time! When I read your comment and saw that you found my blog while visiting Alicia's blog, I never dreamed I'd pull up your blog and discover yet another site that talks about dysautonomia. I'm glad you like what you've read here so far. :)

I don't know if you're on twitter but there is a helpful woman with an account called @POTSawareness there and she sent me information... and was just generally helpful. (You'll learn more about her and others with dysautonomia in my series on it. Part 1 was published tonight but there are 4 more parts and I'm not sure which part lists which resources off the top of my head. In any event, during my last appointment with my primary care physician she informed me that dysautonomia and POTS are "not as uncommon as I might think". This intrigued me since it was consistent with me encountering many people with this stuff but yet I had heard/read things that led me to believe it's rare. I am wondering if it's a lot more common than some doctors seem to believe!

I am sorry that you are so ill. It must be very difficult to have suddenly lost the ability to do so much. I think it's wonderful that you have such a positive attitude and that goes a long, long way with chronic illnesses. I know because I have numerous chronic illnesses and I work hard at staying as positive as I can myself.

Our visit with relatives was briefer than I had anticipated and I'm back online. Yes, I was popping in and out today. Mostly I was writing my "Dysautonomia?" series and I did just a small amount of comments moderation. So you were astute to notice me online today. :)

I will definitely be taking a closer look at your blog than the quick peek I just took. Without a doubt. I hope that you'll be back to see my series of "Dysautonomia?" posts. I'm quite certain you'll be able to add to the conversation in blog comments on those posts!

You are in my thoughts and prayers and I'm sending positive energy your way!!

Take care,

Jeanne

P.S. Wordpress sorted your comment into the spam folder and I think I know why it put it there. There are question marks with your name and I think those characters caused it to kick out. So I didn't see your comment right away because it went straight to the spam folder. I just thought I'd let you know so that other people don't miss your thoughtful comments.

Alicia,

Week off? Nah. The visit was briefer than I had expected and I'm back online. I wrote a post that was too long to fit in one post. I knew going in I might have to split it but I was figuring splitting it in two. Instead, it is a 5 part series! I just posted part 1 tonight. There are so many people out there with the symptoms I've been having. I'm hoping by sharing my experiences that maybe it will help others.

My pleasure visiting your guest post at Amy's blog. She dropped by here today, as a matter of fact! :)

Hi Jeanne~

I found your blog while visiting Yaya's blog, so I thought I'd come for a visit. I haven't read much but what I've read so far has been really great.

About 2 years ago, after having several surgeries and a couple of severe illnesses, I was diagnosed with a very rare, neurovascular disease that has left me 100% disabled, homebound and pretty much bedridden. My entire life as I knew it changed in just a very short period of time. However, I refuse to give up hope because I know that miracles do happen and I am praying for mine every day!

I hope you are enjoying your family and your little vacation from the online world....although I see you are still popping in and out. (You just can't stay away, now can you? ;0)

I'd be honored if you'd stop by my blog sometime. You're always welcome!

Have a wonderfully blessed day!

Julie,

I'm sorry to hear you're tired and having skin reactions. I am sending positive energy your way! I am glad you're not in pain.

I have been writing my next blog post (or should I say posts) for several hours now. I am trying to figure out how to split it up into multiple parts because it has too much information for one post. It's simply too long. I have most of it written. I'm just trying to break it apart in logical pieces so it will flow and make sense. I hope to get it posted soon. So stay tuned. :)
