Jannie,

Yes, it really is vital that as many people as possible speak up about infertility. It affects such a large number of people. It is devastating that infertile patients typically endure insensitive remarks and questions from people in a society ill-equipped to handle infertility in a sensitive manner. This only adds to the emotional turmoil of those struggling with infertility. Our society needs to do better. Sadly, people too often feel divided into two camps: infertile and fertile. I believe this will continue as long as our society turns a blind eye to the pain and sorrow experienced by those who are infertile and/or who suffer miscarriages. The gap between the two groups needs to be bridged. Sadly, there is much work to be done.

I know you had a painful experience with infertility and miscarriages and that you understand this issue better than most.

That's great that you're joining RESOLVE on Facebook.

As far as the comment, I'm glad you liked it and I truly can't wait for you response. Don't worry about not having sound on your computer. As I said in the post, I didn't sing you the song I wrote. Just follow the directions in the blog comment for "listening" to that song. I look forward to your comment back on Blogging Without A Blog.

Shauna,

There really is a sisterhood effect between so many women dealing with these experiences, sharing them with others, learning from others, teaching others, and providing support. I feel badly for your friend that she has gone through so much suffering. It's great that she finally found a special doctor to take her seriously and give her the appropriate medical attention she needs. It's sad, though, that she had to go through so much with other doctors in the meantime! There is much room for improvement in how the medical community deals with endometriosis (which is one of the top causes of infertility).

Thank you! :)

Gentle hugs back to you,

Jeanne

Hi Jeanne,

I am quite struck with the feeling of camaraderie between the gals with Endo, infertility, on and on. As you know, a very close person to me has Endo, and fought it since 13, (now 50), with docs completely unsure of what to do, full of disbelief of her pain, no one understanding ...It turned out that one special doctor showed up in her life that decided to check into it and literally saved her.

So glad to see the blog looking very comfy in it's new home!!!

Gentle Hugs,
Shauna <3

Jeannette,

I will never, ever be able to comprehend the intensity of the pain caused by infertility. Having been in endometriosis support groups since 1992, having attended an infertility support group, having read extensively the heartbreaking stories on endometriosis and infertility blogs, having read books about people's infertility journeys, and having "met" so many people online struggling with infertility... this really is an agonizing, heart-wrenching topic that words can scarcely cover. Many people do take for granted their ability to have children. Sadly, many people make thoughtless, hurtful, insensitive comments to those who are infertile. This only compounds their misery, of course.

As far as Alicia is concerned, I have never met anyone who wanted to be a mother more than her. Some may tie her for first place. However, I have seen no one who wants to be a mother more than her. Her courage, determination, and persistence are inspirational. Her work on her blog to educate and support others who have suffered miscarriages or who struggle with infertility is amazing. Alicia and Josh are in my thoughts as they take this tiring journey. They want so badly to be parents. It is very painful to them to be in limbo right now. It is painful for me to watch as they wait. It is a much more complicated process than most people think. Alicia's blog has done an outstanding job of outlining, in great detail, the steps they have needed to take for the foster-to-adopt process... from classes to home inspections to paperwork. It's all documented on Alicia's blog. Anyone entering the process could literally use Alicia's blog posts as a blueprint to follow. It's that detailed. Alicia is amazing.

Take care,

Jeanne
xoxo

P.S. I'm working on it. Unfortunately, the heat wave has exacerbated symptoms I already had (such as feeling faint and nauseous). My heat intolerance is severe. I am hoping this weather isn't a sign of how the rest of summer will be.

I just also left a comment on Yaya's site-I can't even imagine how heartbreaking it must be to try to have a child for so long. Most people really do take it for granted...My heart truly goes out to her. I hope she is able to have a child one day very soon, or even better a few children.

PS. Hope you are feeling a bit better Jeanne!

Take care,
