Paging Dr. House
Have you ever watched the show House M.D.? Well, sometimes I wish I had one of those teams of doctors figuring out my medical mysteries.
Much as I would love to write about what’s been going on, I am still not feeling well and have very little energy. I apologize for not posting more frequently lately. I will post an update as soon as I am able to.
In the meantime, I just wanted to remind readers that the current book giveaway winner will be selected tomorrow at 9:30 pm EST. So it’s not too late to enter by posting a comment on the Blog Giveaway 4 post.

I honestly have to say it has been pretty rough lately.
I have never watched most of those shows either. I don’t watch nearly as much TV as I used to.
The (House) team of doctors working on cracking the medical mysteries has always looked like an attractive option to me! They have a bunch of doctors put their heads together and work on a particular patient as a team.

Aha! Quoting my words back to me. You sly devil. I have been resting, especially this week. So never fear… I’m getting rest. That’s actually exactly why I took just a few minutes to put up this short post… to say, “hey everyone, I’m still alive… just resting”. That gives me the peace of mind to go right back to resting!

Sorry to hear that your not feeling well! I am glad you are getting lots of rest and taking the time out for your body to do its best at healing. I understand where you’re coming from with wishing for House, especially since everything is solved in an hour! I hope you find some answers and some relief soon.

Thanks for the kind thoughts! I haven’t been online at all until about 5 minutes ago and it’s almost 2:30 pm. (This is very unusual for me). I just hopped on the computer for a really quick check and your comment happened to pop in right then. I truly have been resting a ton. Yeah, answers from doctors within an hour for the “medical mysteries” would be pretty amazing, huh? My primary care physician is on vacation and I’m just playing the waiting game until she gets back. (My medical history is very complicated and seeing one of her partners while she’s gone probably wouldn’t accomplish much other than frustrate me, cost me another copay, and cost me gas money to get to her office 45 minutes away). So, I’m just trying to avoid the emergency room her office tried sending me to Tuesday. So far so good.

Yes, me too. Between the alarmingly drastic fluctuation in blood pressure, the weird pulse rate, feeling faint, extreme fatigue (understatement!) and other symptoms… it has been interesting the last few weeks. Hopefully things will get straightened out soon. I have to admit I’m getting tired of feeling faint every day. Being afraid to drive is not helpful when I have so many places I need to be.

I think that the point you were trying to make Jeanne, and correct me if I’m wrong here, wasn’t about the episode itself, but the fact that House has a team of doctors and they don’t stop until they have the answers as to what is wrong. This is a dream that many of us have since we’re often shuttled between doctors when dealing with multiple chronic illnesses and sometimes having no real answers in sight.

You’re right about the getting shuttled from doctor to doctor alright! Yes, I referenced House because of the whole ‘team approach to solve a medical mystery’ thing. I wasn’t referring to a specific episode.
