I am so honored as to have won these two books, you have no idea! When you told me late last night, I was literally vibrating with excitement in my chair (or as much as a 7 months pregnant lady should be vibrating). I’m hoping that it’s as good as I’ve thought it was going to be the gazillion times I’ve seen it at the bookstore. I’m totally into the happiness theme right now, trying to find the happy in whatever misery is going on.

Anyway, not going to write much here because I don’t want you to use much energy in responding but wanted to let you know that my heart thanks you from the bottom depths of it.

Hugs,
M

Alicia,

Yes, Melissa really wanted to win this and she took advantage of the “you may enter more than once” option (thus increasing the odds her comment number would be picked). It paid off for her. :)

I’m so happy for you… I know how much you wanted to win this contest. Hmm. Vibrating, huh? I don’t think I’ll ask. I hope you enjoy your prize thoroughly. I know you are really into books! Yes, I think anything that can help increase your happy quotient with all the stress you’re under now is a good thing.

It’s so nice to see you so happy. I know you have had several frustrating, challenging, brutal months. My hope is that things will start to settle down for you as much as possible.

Hugs back,

J

Thanks for the congrats everyone. After the past few days that I have had, happiness and luck have been on the short-side of things so I’m thrilled to have won! I’ve had a very difficult day with my knees swelling 4x the size they should be, regular Braxton Hicks contractions, and a lot of pain in my back. I think I can use that authentic happiness now!

Oh Melissa!

I hope “authentic happiness” arrives to you faster than the book can be shipped. You deserve a break. I’m so sorry you’re going through so much pain and encountering so many serious problems. I’m sending positive energy your way!! :)

It is times like these that I’m reminded that happiness lies within and is a state of mind accessible to everyone. It might be difficult to see it through the pain and misery, but it’s there. I have my moments where it shines through, believe me. Lately J has been giving me more of these moments which are like little rays of sunshine. He’s become so helpful and so caring of the baby. He’ll spend hours just talking and singing songs to my tummy. I’m thrilled that he’s so excited, as we all are.

We both know that I’m running short on my “library” collection. I have soooo many books and yet I’ve read most of them cover to cover. I say most because many of them are textbooks. But then again, fiction just doesn’t grab me the same way as reading philosophy or more about the psych world.

Anyways, almost 6:30am and I’m going to try to have a snooze before my dad gets here to take me down to the hospital. Poor B has been having nightmares all night about my pregnancy and me possibly needing a c-section, he was asking me if I really needed him there in the case of a ‘c’ as he doesn’t think he could handle the stress. It’s going to be an interesting remainder of the pregnancy if he’s already worried about that! lol. We did ask the MIL if she wanted to be there (at the hospital waiting room) but she declined…

Hugs,
M

Melissa,

I had replied to this previously and it had posted but in the course of switching servers it apparently got “lost”. So here goes…

I agree with you that we all have the ability to tap into that inner peace that is tied to happiness. It’s often difficult for people to understand how one can be happy in the midst of challenges and tragic circumstances. However, it is possible to achieve happiness despite great adversity.

I am really glad you’ve had some of these moments lately in particular because I know you have been dealt some painful and challenging blows lately. It’s great that J is so excited.

Yes, I know that your massive collection of books has already been thoroughly scoured by you and you are looking forward to something new.

I feel badly that B is having nightmares. This all has been very stressful on him too. It’s a lot for anyone to handle. The last thing you need is him passing out in the middle of that scene. So, if he decides that would be too much for him, I would “give him a pass”.

As far as MIL is concerned, B will have his phone tree to reach people. So that’s OK too.

Jeanne
