Amanda,

Fancy that! Thanks to the (what did you call them again?)… “tech fairies” my blog is now back up and running and I can actually reply to your comment. (Whew! You’d be surprised how stressed out one can get from approximately 24 hours with a dead blog).

You are correct… we WILL create an unstoppable force! :)

Hello Jeanne,

I hope all is well with you. I have considered contacting to give you an update since we last spoke. There are so many questions I have until it is all becoming very complex to deal with. I did not see anything regarding dealing with depression and Endo unless I overlooked it. I would also like so insight on how to deal with work, endo, and other health related problems.

Thanks,

Tiffiney

Welcome Tiffiney!

Obviously, I know you from “off the blog”… but it’s wonderful to see you here leaving your first blog comment! ;)

It was very nice to hear from you today and I’m really glad you left a comment here. As you already know (but readers here do not), we managed to get into contact “off the blog” today to discuss the many complex issues you were interested in discussing. Since they were pretty complicated to be handled thoroughly within blog comments alone, I’m glad we found another way to connect.

However, for the benefit of readers here, let me just explain a bit about our conversation as it pertains to your blog comment. You are correct that I do not have a specific category set up for posts pertaining to depression. There are a couple of reasons for this. Due to the potentially serious nature of depression, I have written blog posts that reference it with caution.

For example, since my blog gets DAILY traffic on search strings like “endometriosis and suicide” and since one of my fellow bloggers (Endochick) does too, I feel an enormous responsibility to handle any posts that talk about depression with the utmost care. Relatively recently, I added a graphic to my blog’s sidebar with a suicide hotline number that works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

As I am not a trained mental health professional, I exercise extreme caution regarding posts that get into depression. Having loved ones who have struggled/do struggle with depression, I know how incredibly serious it can be.

Hopefully the resources I mentioned to you in our “off the blog” communication will be helpful. Your question comes on the heels of many months of wondering how I can do more regarding this issue. I now think that maybe I can round up some helpful links pertaining to behavioral health resources that might be helpful for readers. Organizations like NAMI and the Mental Health Association in the U.S. may be helpful for some people.

You’ve given me something to think about. I have been leery about blogging on depression in too much detail, especially in light of the daily traffic my blog gets on search strings like “suicide endometriosis”. I feel a responsibility to word things very carefully.

I hope that things work out with your employer and that your endometriosis symptoms can be as well-managed as possible moving forward.

It was so very nice to hear from you and I’m sending positive energy your way! Please keep in touch! ;)

Thanks,

Jeanne

Hi!

Sorry I have not been commenting much but the computer I used before crashed. Now I’m using a different one so I can comment.

I think that the research Endochick is doing on endometriosis is great. Hopefully she’ll get a lot of participants! I checked out Amanda’s site too and it looks really good. I can tell she has put a lot of effort into it. The jewelry is very pretty there.

Alohamorakat,

Hello!

Sorry to hear you’ve been having computer problems.

Yes, it is great that Endochick is putting her passion for the endometriosis cause to good use! Amanda’s online shop is lovely and it’s wonderful that she is incorporating endometriosis awareness into her site.

It was nice to hear from you. ;)
