Helping women with chronic illnesses

Chronic Healing In Blog Carnival

I received a nice surprise today. I was informed that one of my blog posts was selected to be featured in the How to Cope with Pain blog’s Pain-Blog Carnival, July 2009.

The post featured was:

Hummingbird Happiness

It was a pleasant surprise to be featured in this pain-blog carnival since I hadn’t submitted anything. I encourage you to check out the How to Cope with Pain blog, which has long been in my blogroll as a site of interest for chronic pain and chronic illness patients.

Thank you to the How to Cope with Pain blog for featuring my blog post. This post was one of my personal favorites since it touched on the importance of nature for healing and since I got to share some pictures from right outside my house. So I am pleased that this post is resonating with others.

So you did, Jannie. So you did. Well, without my husband’s great hummingbird pictures, there wouldn’t be a Hummingbird Happiness post. I can take a decent picture but I don’t think I ever would have gotten those shots. His reaction time is much quicker than mine and I had indicated that I wanted to get pictures of the hummingbirds. So when he saw the opportunity… he ran for the camera. I have to thank him for that! As far as that tulip picture is concerned, I took it on the way to the mailbox the day your awesome CD arrived. Yes, I took that immediately before I reached the glorious Jannie Funster CD waiting in the mailbox. 🙂

What a great honor J! I’m happy for you that more people will get an opportunity to share in a good reminder to us all that happiness does exist even in the chronically ill world!

Take care,

Thanks! I think it’s crucial for those who are chronically ill to find ways to still have fun. It’s easy to get caught up in the negatives… but it’s really important to remember all of the positives! 🙂
