Jeannette,

I'm glad it gave you a laugh. That was all I could think of when I read Jannie's comment about lemon verbena was Miss Beedle on Little House on the Prairie.

Laughter is the best medicine. :)

There is a reason I follow Jannie... she keeps me laughing (and laughing does distract from pain).

Jeanne:
I am sorry, just had to post a message as I was reading about the lemon verbena the first thing that popped into my head was Little House on the Prairie...then I read your post and found myself, giggling about it early this morning. Not sure why I found it funny but I am grateful to laugh this early while in such pain.

Susie,

Nah. You are too cute. You never know where scents will show up nowadays (and with odd names too)!! :)

You're in good hands with Jannie.

LOL, the yoke's on me! Well, then, I will have moonbeams, please.

The weird thing is I just read about how they are putting scents in books now, so it wasn't too much of a stretch to think it was in CDs, too. Oh, the horror.

Susie,

I just reached this comment. Boy, did I call that one! :)

Alas, Jannie is talking about imaginary scents. I knew this when I replied to her comments (see earlier). However, I posted a comment about scents and MCS too...

I figured that maybe someone reading these comments will learn something new about MCS. You never know!

I am all-too-familar with the consequences of exposure to toxic chemicals (like what you referenced). Yes, mixing unscented and scented items basically makes them all scented in my book.

Like you, I use my garage as a "detox area" for items that cannot enter the house until they have thoroughly aired out. (Of course, some items never do seem to air out sufficiently to graduate indoors).

Don't worry, Jannie's scent references are all imaginary. She is one of the most imaginative people I have had the pleasure to come across. She is really something! :)

Anyway, we want you to be able to pop that CD in pronto when you get it. So don't worry. Jannie's not going to send you any real scents. Imaginary only!

If it's an imaginary scent, I am all game! But if a real scent, I must pass. Unless it's real moonbeams, chocolate, lemons or jasmine flowers, it's probably synthetic, which is full of toxic chemicals. Hard to believe, but true. Also, if your are storing unscented products with scented products, there will be cross contamination. So may need to stay out in my garage for awhile to detox before I can give it a listen. Such is the life with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity.

Jannie,

I am pretty sure the shipping of a Jannie Funster CD amidst a jasmine moonbeam option was only advertised on your blog (and possibly twitter). I don't think that was mentioned here. I know the lemon verbena and chocolate macadamia shipping options are news to me. I would remember lemon verbena because that was the perfume Miss Beedle wore on Little House on the Prairie. (Miss Beedle was a nice lady but I'm glad she was on TV so I didn't have to smell her perfume. I'm guessing my multiple chemical sensitivity sister Susie would pass on that scent as well). While I can imagine living in Hawaii might help one develop a taste for macadamia nuts, I'm again unsure of anything involving scents.

Sooooo, you may have to change your mindset a bit from the notion of sending an aroma (however imaginary it might be)... simply because an aroma to one person can be quite problematic to others. Rather than trying to select an aroma that wouldn't cause a canary to drop, why not perfect that autograph of yours on the liner notes? I am guessing that Susie is like me in that the autograph would be better done in regular pen (like you did mine) than in marker. I know with my MCS, a Sharpie's revolting stench would definitely surivive the shipment process resulting in me turning into a sick canary on the receiving end. (Seriously, I almost fainted in the grocery store the other day because I was in an unfamiliar store location and accidentally got too close to the detergent aisle). So why not get that pen out and practice signing your autograph with one of your witty sayings that makes me laugh so hard? I'm betting that Susie would appreciate a funny autograph over an aroma. :) If I had money, I would bet money on it!

Yay!!!!! Congrats Susie!

And THANKS, Jeanne for being such a sweetie to so generously host this!

Susie, the CD will go out today or tomorrow. Are jasmine moonbeams okay? I also have fresh shipments of lemon verbena and chocolate macadamia just in -- but I can send the CD with whatever fine aroma your heart desires.
xoxo
